How many line segments does this shape have? Count the vertices or endpoints too. Is it a polygon? Why?

Cameron told our class he visualizes a running back

darting one way then the other between division and multiplication facts.

Darlene said she visualized a sand timer being turned up and down between 

division and multiplication. Super ideas!
